Speeding bike skids & crashes in Madhapur; Two dead

Madhapur: Two individuals were killed in a tragic accident when their bike skidded off the road and collided with a divider under the Madhapur police station limits on Friday evening, December 27, 2024.
The deceased have been identified as Raghu Babu and Akansh, residents of Borabanda.
According to the reports, the speeding Jawa bike was traveling along the 100-feet road in Ayyappa Society when the accident occurred. It is suspected that the rider was under the influence of alcohol at the time of the crash.
One of the victims died at the scene, while the other succumbed to injuries on the way to the hospital.
The Madhapur police have registered a case and are investigating the incident.
Fatal Bus Collision in Punjagutta Claims Life of 20-Year-Old Student
In another tragic incident, a 20-year-old student lost his life in a head-on collision with a private travel bus in Punjagutta on December 20, 2024. The deceased, identified as Lokesh, was pursuing a B.Tech degree. His companion, also a student, sustained severe injuries in the accident.
The incident occurred in the afternoon when the private bus collided with the two students who were traveling on their scooter. Lokesh died at the scene, while his companion was rushed to the hospital. Witnesses immediately alerted the police, and officers from the Punjagutta police station responded swiftly to the scene. A case has been filed following a complaint from the deceased’s family.
Earlier Fatal Bus Collisions in Hyderabad
This incident follows a series of fatal bus collisions in the city. On December 9, 2024, a man named Ramesh was killed when his two-wheeler was struck by a private bus in Moosapet, Kukatpally. The accident occurred in the early hours when Ramesh attempted to make a turn, and the bus collided with his bike, causing him to lose control and be run over by the bus’s rear tires. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
Locals alerted the Kukatpally police, who arrived promptly and launched an investigation. The body of the victim was sent for an autopsy at Gandhi Hospital.
Earlier, on October 30, 2024, in Shahpur Nagar, a private travel bus collided with a pedestrian, Harikrishna, a sanitation supervisor with the GHMC. The incident occurred when Harikrishna was crossing the road and the bus dragged him from Chowrasta to Sagar Hotel. Emergency services were alerted, and the Jeedimetla police responded quickly to the scene. The incident led to protests by GHMC workers near Sagar Hotel, demanding accountability for the tragedy.
In another incident on September 21, 2024, 32-year-old Raga Jyothi was killed when a lorry struck and ran over her while she was crossing the road in Medchal. Despite efforts to save her, she was declared dead at the scene.
