L&T Metro monetises 47.4 lakh sq ft land
HYDERABAD: L&T Metro Rail Hyderabad has monetised 47.4 lakh square feet of land allotted for the first phase of the Hyderabad Metro Rail project, according to the company’s annual financial report.
The company said it was required to undertake construction across 18.5 million square feet of allotted land. It added that malls were built at four locations covering 1.20 million square feet.
Fare revision impacts passenger numbers
The report stated that Hyderabad Metro recorded 4.44 lakh passengers during the 2024-25 financial year. The figure declined to 4.17 lakh in 2025-26.
The company attributed the fall in ridership to the fare revision implemented during the year.
Agreement signed for stake sale
L&T Metro said its agreement with the government still has a validity period of 46 years, with an option to secure an additional seven-year extension.
Despite this, the company stated that it signed an agreement with the Government of Telangana on April 29 as part of a strategic decision to sell its entire stake in the Metro project.
