Idli steamer explosion injures three at Chutney’s in LB Nagar

HYDERABAD: Three employees were injured after an idli steamer exploded at Chutney’s restaurant in LB Nagar on Friday afternoon, triggering panic among customers.
A loud blast was heard from the kitchen around noon, prompting diners to rush out of the premises. Restaurant staff alerted the local police and fire department immediately.
The injured workers were shifted to a nearby private hospital. Their injuries are non-life-threatening and their condition is stable, according to initial information.
Excess pressure suspected as likely cause
The LB Nagar police reached the spot and began an investigation. Officials suspect excessive pressure inside the cooking equipment may have caused the explosion.
A technical inspection will determine the exact cause, police said.
No customers were reported injured in the incident.
