Lawyer attacked with knife at Necklace Road
Hyderabad: A lawyer was attacked with a knife by an unidentified assailant while he was out on a morning walk with his pet dog near IMAX Theatre on Necklace Road, Hyderabad on Tuesday morning.
According to the police reports, the assailant, who arrived on a black Activa scooter, inquired about the lawyer’s pet dog. A verbal altercation ensued, during which the attacker pulled out a knife and slashed the lawyer’s hand.
The Khairatabad police have registered a case and are currently investigating the incident based on CCTV footage from the area. More details are awaited.
In another incident, a young woman was injured in a knife attack during a clash between two groups over a rental dispute in Attapur on Sunday. The incident occurred at a house in Hasan Nagar, Attapur. The victim, a tenant, had reportedly been residing in the house for several days without paying the rent. Frustrated by the non-payment, the landlord resorted to cutting off the electricity supply to the house.
A heated argument ensued between the two parties, escalating into a physical altercation. During the clash, the victim sustained knife injuries to her hand and head. She was immediately rushed to a nearby hospital for medical treatment. The Attapur police have registered a case and are investigating the matter further.
In a separate incident on August 28, a woman was fatally stabbed by her partner in Gopanpally. The victim, a beautician from Bengal, had ended the relationship with the accused, Rakesh from Bidar, Karnataka.
Rakesh, however, persisted in pursuing her and demanded marriage. When she refused, he attacked her with a knife, killing her on the spot. Three of her friends who intervened were also injured in the attack.
After the attack, Rakesh attempted to end his life by electrocution in Kanakamamidi village.
