Lavanya booked for drunk driving after Kondapur check
HYDERABAD: Lavanya, alleged ex-girlfriend of film actor Raj Tarun, has been booked for drunk driving after being caught during a police check in Kondapur on March 25.
According to police, Lavanya was stopped during a routine drunk-and-drive enforcement drive. A breathalyser test confirmed she was under the influence of alcohol. A case was registered under relevant provisions of the Motor Vehicles Act, and her vehicle was seized and shifted to Kondapur police station.
Police issued her a notice to attend counselling as part of standard procedure.
Villagers stopped her after alleged biker collision
In a separate incident, Lavanya allegedly hit a biker at Mallepally in Malkapur mandal while driving under the influence. Police said that when villagers confronted her, she attempted to flee but was chased and stopped by locals.
Villagers demanded an apology, following which police reached the spot. Officials said she resisted and misbehaved with personnel at the scene.
Past allegations had triggered public controversy
The latest development comes after Lavanya had earlier levelled allegations against actor Raj Tarun, accusing him of cheating her on the promise of marriage. The claims had sparked public debate in the film industry.
