Lake Enumeration App To Feature Section For Citizen Objections Hydraa Commissioner

Hyderabad: HYDRAA Commissioner A.V. Ranganath stated on Monday, April 7, 2025, that completing the determination of the Full Tank Level (FTL) of lakes in the city will help resolve several ongoing issues. He urged officials to expedite the process.

Ranganath explained that the FTL determination should take into consideration of public objections, along with data from relevant departments and technical expertise. He also mentioned that the “Lake Enumeration” app, being developed for this purpose, will include a section for citizens to submit their objections.

During the HYDRAA Prajavani program, Ranganath addressed a large number of complaints from the public, underscoring the importance of prioritizing the FTL determination process. He explained that the FTL boundaries are shifting due to earth filling on one side of the lakes and the continuous inflow of sewage water, making the timely completion of the process essential.

The FTL determination is being carried out using records from various departments, including village, revenue, HMDA, GHMC, and irrigation, as well as data from the Survey of India and satellite imagery from NRSI.

To address concerns and avoid misunderstandings, Ranganath assured that a specialized expert committee has been set up to oversee the process. The committee will also take steps to address complaints related to issues such as road obstructions between canals, illegal encroachments on old lake boundaries, and the sale of plots in areas designated for public use.

On Monday, a total of 57 complaints were submitted during the HYDRAA Prajavani program. Ranganath assigned the responsibility of addressing these complaints to the relevant officials.
