Residents struggle with daily traffic woes at Lakdawala Junction due to lack of signals, constables
Secunderabad: Residents and commuters in the vicinity of Lakdawala Junction, located near Bollaram on the Secunderabad-Siddipet Road under Trimulgiri Traffic Police Station, are expressing growing concerns over the lack of traffic management at the busy intersection. According to local residents, the absence of traffic signals and a dedicated traffic constable has led to frequent traffic holdups, confusion, and even accidents.
Anoop Kumar, a resident in the area, told Hyderabad Mail, “Lakdawala Junction is a busy crossroad with heavy traffic movement at all hours, especially during peak times. Despite this, the junction lacks both traffic signal lights and a traffic constable to regulate the flow of vehicles. This has led to regular traffic jams, confusion, and, in some cases, accidents. Road rage incidents have become quite common due to the chaotic conditions.”
He further highlighted the situation’s urgency, stating, “We request that traffic signal lights be installed at the junction immediately to ensure the safety of road users and improve traffic flow. Until the traffic lights are installed, traffic constables should be deployed to manage the junction.”
Another commuter, Suresh, a government employee, shared his frustrations, saying, “I travel this route every day, and it’s extremely difficult with no traffic signals or constables to manage the traffic. It’s a major highway and is often crowded with schoolchildren, office-goers, and other commuters. When all vehicles arrive at once, it becomes complete chaos. The situation worsens when the nearby railway gate closes, halting traffic for over 20 minutes, leading to even more congestion and accidents.”
