Hyderabad: As temperatures continue to soar in Hyderabad, the staff and visitors at the Aadhaar Seva Kendra (Aadhaar Enrolment Centre) at Musheerabad are struggling with unbearable heat due to the lack of proper cooling systems.

The center’s air conditioning and ceiling fans exist and function too, but the infrastructure is insufficient to cool the room temperature and provide some relief to the people who are visiting the centre for Aadhaar card enrollment.

The footfall at Musheerabad’s Aadhaar Enrolment Centre has only increased in recent days due to the cancellation of appointments by the Aadhaar centres in the vicinity. Consequently, the centre is getting overcrowded and the cooling systems are proving insufficient.

Visitors complained about the indifferent attitude of the staff and said they were least bothered about the inconvenience to them in the harsh summer.

“We have been asking the staff about the cooling problems, but nobody gives us proper answers,” said one frustrated visitor.

The Aadhaar Seva Kendra is receiving hundreds of visitors daily. Several parents with small kids seeking Aadhaar cards for school admissions were seen queuing up at the centre as the document is mandatory for school admissions.

Despite being a major service center, the Musheerabad’s Aadhaar office lacks basic facilities such as sufficient number of fans and ACs. On Saturday, with the weekend rush, a huge crowd gathered, some for new Aadhaar cards and others for updates.
