Why La Pino’z Pizza in Hyderabad was pulled up during a food safety inspection
HYDERABAD: Food Safety teams of the Cyberabad Municipal Corporation (CMC) found multiple hygiene and food safety violations during an inspection of the La Pino’z Pizza outlet at Jubilee Enclave on June 17, 2026.
The inspection was conducted as part of the corporation’s ongoing food safety monitoring drive across Cyberabad.
Officials reported a heavy cockroach infestation at the premises. They also found expired spice mixes, flavoured syrups and bread items stored at the outlet.
Hygiene lapses detected during inspection
According to the inspection report, several food items were unlabelled and improperly stored. A microbial infestation was observed in a freezer that was under maintenance. Inspectors also found chicken stored without proper wrapping.
Lizard droppings were found near a food storage area, raising concerns about contamination risks. The inspection team further noted that vegetarian and non-vegetarian items were stored in the same freezer.
Officials said medical fitness records of food handlers and water testing reports were not available for verification during the inspection.

Improvement notice to be issued
The CMC said expired and improperly stored food items were discarded on the spot. Directions were issued to the management for deep cleaning of the premises and implementation of pest-control measures.
An Improvement Notice is being issued to the establishment for immediate compliance with food safety norms.
The outlet received a hygiene assessment score of 67 out of 100, or 67%.
Under the corporation’s grading system, establishments scoring above 90% are classified as “Good”. Those scoring between 50% and 90% are issued an Improvement Notice, while outlets scoring below 50% receive a Show Cause Notice.
The CMC said it would continue regular inspections to strengthen food safety and public health standards across Cyberabad.
