Kukatpally: Man dies after fatal assault for staring at women, four arrested
Hyderabad: Kukatpally police arrested four individuals on Wednesday for allegedly attacking another group, leading to the death of a 22-year-old man. The incident took place on November 22 over a minor issue.
The arrested persons have been identified as Chennaboina Pavan (22), Chennaboina Sridhar (20), Banoth Suresh (19) and Guntuka Ajay Kumar (20).
According to police, Pavan and Sridhar visited a tea stall along with two women relatives to have tea. The victim, Gantimalla Venkata Ramana, was hanging out with his four friends outside an eatery while the accused were having tea at a stall on the opposite side of the street.
A few moments later, both Pavan and Sridhar crossed the street and picked up an argument with Ramana and his friends claiming they had been gazing at their women relatives.
Kukatpally ACP, K Srinivas Rao said as the argument escalated, Sridhar called his friends Suresh and Ajay Kumar to the place and then four of them started thrashing Ramana and his friends. Next day, Ramana collapsed at home and started vomiting due to the internal injuries he had suffered due to blows by the opposite group. He succumbed to injuries before reaching the hospital.
Following a complaint of deadly assault, the Kukatpally police registered a case and launched investigation into the matter. The police team analysed the footage from CCTV cameras installed near the spot and tracked down the accused persons. Subsequently, they were arrested and remanded.
