1 crore hawala cash robbery case solved within 24 hours in Kukatpally

HYDERABAD: Kukatpally police, with assistance from Central Crime Station (CCS) Balanagar, solved a ₹1-crore robbery case within 24 hours and arrested four accused persons, officials said.
Police registered FIR No. 398/2026 under Sections 310(2) read with 61(2) and 3(5) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) following a complaint by a motorcyclist who was attacked while transporting cash.
Robbery plotted after insider shared hawala movement details
The complainant, Md Azeemuddin, a resident of Bahadurpura, told police he was assigned by his employer to collect cash using a ₹10 currency note as identification. On March 17, 2026, he and a colleague went to Kukatpally to collect ₹1 crore from an unidentified person.
Police said one of the accused, Md Khusrouddin, who worked at the same firm, allegedly learnt that the transactions involved unaccounted hawala money and conspired with associates to rob the amount. He informed accomplices about the route and timing after the collection.
While the duo were returning on a Suzuki Burgman motorcycle near Pillar No. 836, the accused allegedly threw chilli powder into their eyes. The rider lost control and crashed into a bus, after which the cash bag was snatched, police said.
Airport arrest after vehicle clue leads to suspects
A patrol constable noticed the incident and alerted senior officers. During investigation, police traced an abandoned Honda Activa at the scene to the family of one suspect.
Further inquiry revealed that three accused planned to flee to Lucknow by flight. Police teams rushed to Rajiv Gandhi International Airport, Shamshabad, and apprehended Md Omer Shareef, Abdul Hameed, and Md Ghouse Saddam along with a bag containing cash.
Later, Md Khusrouddin was also taken into custody. Five other accused — identified as Chotu, Salman, Ghouse, Zeeshan, and Jammu — are on the run.
Police seized ₹77,78,195 in cash, five mobile phones, flight tickets, and the abandoned scooter.
Officials said the detection was carried out under the supervision of senior Cyberabad police officers, who commended the swift action by Kukatpally police and CCS teams.
