House arrest claims spark row ahead of KTR’s Yuva Sangrama Sadassu in Hyderabad

Sabitha

HYDERABAD: Ahead of the ‘Yuva Sangrama Sadassu’ public meeting to be addressed by Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) working president K.T. Rama Rao (KTR) at Saroornagar Stadium, the party alleged that police placed former minister Sabitha Indra Reddy and former IPS officer-turned-BRS leader R.S. Praveen Kumar under house arrest.

According to the BRS, the action was taken before the scheduled public meeting despite the event having received permission from the police and clearance from the High Court.

The party described the reported house arrests as unconstitutional and criticised the police action. It maintained that there was no justification for restricting the movement of its leaders after the meeting had obtained the necessary permissions.

There was no immediate official response from the Hyderabad police on the BRS allegations at the time of reporting.
