KTR seeks clarity on Adilabad CCI revival
HYDERABAD: BRS Working President KT Rama Rao (KTR) has written to Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy, demanding that the Congress government clarify its official stand on reviving the Cement Corporation of India (CCI) plant in Adilabad. He said the revival of the unit was crucial for the district’s industrial development and the livelihood of thousands of families.
KTR cites ₹250 crore State share for revival
KTR said the CCI plant could be revived if the Telangana government contributed ₹250 crore as its share. He alleged that the revival process had been delayed because the State government had not taken the required initiative or submitted the necessary proposals to the Centre.
He also reminded Revanth Reddy of the assurances made before and after assuming office on restarting the Adilabad CCI plant. KTR accused the Congress government of lacking commitment to the project and referred to the proposals made during the previous BRS government to facilitate the plant’s revival.
Six questions posed to Chief Minister
KTR urged the government to fulfil the aspirations of the people of Adilabad and sought answers from the Chief Minister on six key issues related to the CCI project. These include the government’s official stand on the revival, proposals sent to the Centre, willingness to provide the ₹250 crore State share, extension of incentives, scope for a Centre-State partnership, and an alternative plan if the Centre does not proceed with the project.
