K T Rama Rao says voters reject Congress in Telangana

HYDERABAD: Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) working president K T Rama Rao said the Congress will not return to power in Telangana for at least 20 years, citing public anger over its governance.
KTR alleges corruption, scams during Congress rule
Rama Rao said people have observed “fraudulent promises, corruption and scams” during the Congress’s two-and-a-half-year rule and will not vote for it again. He added that corruption has “increased unchecked” across sectors, with Congress leaders allegedly focused on commissions and financial gains.
He also alleged that Congress ministers were directly involved in land and mining irregularities in Ranga Reddy district. “People are angry after witnessing these developments,” he said.
Rama Rao was speaking at a review meeting with party public representatives and senior leaders of the undivided Ranga Reddy district at his residence in Nandi Nagar. He discussed current political developments and outlined steps to strengthen the party.
Calls for protests against LPG price hike
Rama Rao criticised the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP)-led central government for “anti-people decisions”, citing the recent LPG cylinder price hike of over ₹1,000 as an example.
He said rising fuel prices, including petrol and diesel, have increased the burden of essential commodities on the public. He urged party leaders to organise protests against the price hike and mobilise public awareness.
He demanded that the Centre immediately roll back the LPG price increase to provide relief to people.
Reviews party strategy with Ranga Reddy leaders
Rama Rao also discussed organisational matters, including the upcoming party membership drive and committee formation. He called on BRS leaders to play an active role in the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls and prevent alleged irregularities by Congress and BJP.
He asked leaders to ensure that all eligible youth are enrolled as voters and to prevent bogus registrations. He also cautioned that there is a risk of vote deletions and urged vigilance to safeguard voting rights.
With municipal elections likely soon, he asked leaders to prepare accordingly. He congratulated party leaders for past successes in panchayat raj and municipal elections.
Former ministers Sabitha Indra Reddy and Malla Reddy, along with MLAs, MLCs and senior leaders, attended the meeting.
