Ktr Accuses Rahul Gandhi, Congress Of ‘minority Betrayal’ And ‘bulldozer Governance’ In Telangana

HYDERABAD: Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) Working President K.T. Rama Rao on Saturday accused Congress leader Rahul Gandhi and the Telangana government of betraying minorities and deceiving all sections of society while “secretly colluding with the BJP”.

Addressing a public meeting at the Reliance Jubilee Gated Community in Shaikpet, part of the Jubilee Hills constituency, Rama Rao said Rahul Gandhi had failed to question Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy’s alleged “bulldozer governance”, despite criticising similar actions elsewhere.

“Rahul Gandhi owes an explanation to the people of Telangana. How can he stay silent when his own Chief Minister is implementing BJP-style bulldozer politics?” he asked, alleging that poor people’s homes in Hyderabad were being demolished.

‘Minorities denied representation’

The BRS leader said it was “shameful” that the current Congress government was the first in Telangana’s history without a single minority representative. “Despite six MLC vacancies, not one seat was given to minorities. This exposes Congress’s hypocrisy,” he said.

Rama Rao claimed Congress had pushed minority welfare into neglect and implemented the controversial Waqf amendment despite opposing it nationally. “Rahul Gandhi’s silence only confirms his complicity,” he said.

‘Congress and BJP hand in glove’

Alleging a nexus between Congress and BJP, Rama Rao said both parties were “two sides of the same coin.” “Revanth Reddy is working hand in glove with the BJP. Congress ministers are awarding contracts to BJP-linked firms while calling regional parties like BRS their B-team,” he charged.

‘Telangana’s progress derailed’

Contrasting the BRS government’s record with that of the Congress, Rama Rao said the decade-long BRS rule under K. Chandrashekar Rao had transformed Hyderabad into a “peaceful, progressive, and inclusive global city” with 24-hour power supply.

“In just two years, Congress has broken promises, destroyed livelihoods, and deceived every section — farmers, students, employees, women, and minorities alike,” he said.

He highlighted BRS’s initiatives for minorities, including 204 residential schools and a ₹20-lakh overseas scholarship scheme, saying “thousands of students became doctors and engineers — that is real empowerment.”

Rama Rao urged voters to “reject deceptive rule” and “vote for the car symbol” on November 11, appealing for support to BRS candidate Maganti Sunitha from Jubilee Hills.
