HYDERABAD: KTR dares Revanth to arrest him, face lie detector test

HYDERABAD: Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) working president K T Rama Rao on Wednesday alleged that the Congress government ignored the Formula E case even after the Governor granted prosecution sanction. He claimed that the case was sidelined because the charge sheet contained no substantive material.
Addressing the media after releasing the Jubilee Hills Progress Report along with former minister Talasani Srinivas Yadav at Telangana Bhavan, KTR challenged the state government to arrest him if there was any evidence against him. He said he was ready to undergo a lie detector test and asked whether Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy was willing to do the same.
KTR alleged that both leaders were facing Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) cases, and a lie detector test would reveal who was truthful.
‘Congress failed to deliver on Hyderabad’s development’
Criticising the state government, Rama Rao said that the Congress administration had failed to undertake any major infrastructure works in Hyderabad in the last two years.
“In our tenure, we built 42 flyovers and underpasses. The Congress government has only cut ribbons for projects initiated by us,” he said. “Have they built even one new road? Did they at least fill potholes?”
He said sanitation problems in the city were addressed during the BRS regime, with former chief minister K Chandrasekhar Rao personally monitoring cleanliness drives. “Hyderabad won 34 awards under Swachh Survekshan. In ten years, we made it a clean city; now Congress has turned it into a dump,” he added.
‘BRS built houses, Congress razed them’
The BRS leader accused the government of demolishing houses built under the double-bedroom scheme. “Our government constructed one lakh double-bedroom houses in Hyderabad. The Congress has not built a single one; instead, it has demolished thousands under the ‘Hydra’ project,” he said.
He also alleged that the Congress failed to set up new nurseries and instead destroyed existing green spaces, claiming that the government’s actions at the University of Hyderabad had damaged biodiversity worth ₹10,000 crore.
‘Revanth has ties with BJP’
Rama Rao alleged a “fevicol bond” between Revanth Reddy and Prime Minister Narendra Modi. “While Rahul Gandhi criticises the CBI and ED, Revanth trusts the same agencies,” he said, demanding that the chief minister apologise to the marginalized groups for his remarks.
Appealing to voters, Rama Rao urged the electorate to support BRS candidate Maganti Sunitha in the November 11 byelection and ensure her victory with a huge majority.
