KTR challenges Revanth Reddy to face case allegations publicly

HYDERABAD: Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) working president K T Rama Rao on Tuesday criticised Chief Minister Revanth Reddy, accusing him of avoiding public scrutiny by engaging in “informal chats” instead of addressing corruption allegations head on.
Addressing a BRS public meeting in Nalgonda, Rama Rao alleged that the Indian National Congress government had, over the past two years, been leaking information about fresh cases almost every day to defame the opposition.
Congress avoiding answers, says KTR
Rama Rao said former chief minister K Chandrashekar Rao had raised serious questions on irrigation projects, but the Congress lacked the capacity to respond. He claimed that whenever Chandrashekar Rao “roared”, Congress leaders failed to offer answers.
On irrigation works, Rama Rao alleged that the BRS government had completed 90% of the Palamuru–Rangareddy lift irrigation project, but the present government was obstructing the remaining 10% of the works.
Challenge on cooperative elections
Rama Rao alleged that if the Congress government had genuinely benefited farmers, it would have conducted elections to cooperative societies. He claimed the government was avoiding elections out of fear of defeat and challenged the chief minister to announce the polls if he had integrity.
Urging party workers to stay focused, Rama Rao said BRS cadres should keep their attention firmly on the implementation of the Congress government’s “420 promises”, drawing an analogy with Arjuna’s single-minded focus on the bird’s eye. He told workers not to be intimidated by cases or jail threats.
Former chief minister Chandrashekar Rao attended a meeting of the BRS Legislature Party on Sunday, where he strongly criticised the Congress government. He reportedly said that had local body elections been held under the BRS car symbol, the results would have been even more favourable to the party.
Meanwhile, sources said the Special Investigation Team was considering issuing notices to Chandrashekar Rao and Rama Rao in connection with the phone-tapping case. Rama Rao is also listed as A1 in the alleged corruption case linked to the Formula E race held in Hyderabad in 2023, during the BRS regime.
