KS Bakers Kukatpally Gets Improvement Notice After Food Safety Team Finds Hygiene Lapse
HYDERABAD: The Cyberabad Commissionerate’s Food Safety team has recommended an improvement notice to KS Bakers in Kukatpally after detecting several hygiene lapses during a routine inspection.
Officials found poor segregation of vegetarian and non-vegetarian food items inside the freezer. They also noticed cockroach infestation, rusted ovens, and unclean storage containers and kitchen tiles. Following the inspection, the team directed the bakery management to fix the deficiencies and improve hygiene standards.
Good food safety practices observed
Despite the shortcomings, the inspection team appreciated several food safety measures followed by the bakery.
Food handlers wore aprons and hairnets, while the bakery regularly tested food and water samples through external laboratories. Officials also found that the bakery properly labelled cakes and followed the First In, First Out (FIFO) inventory system.
In addition, the management maintained medical fitness records for food handlers and had a Food Safety Training and Certification (FoSTaC)-trained supervisor on duty.
Bakery scores 82% in hygiene assessment
The bakery secured 94 out of 116 marks, translating to an 82% hygiene score in the assessment conducted by the Food Safety team.
The inspection formed part of the Cyberabad Commissionerate’s ongoing drive to monitor compliance with food safety and hygiene standards across food establishments.
