Krushi Defence Colony In Patancheru Seeks Solutions To Water Stagnation And Poor Roads

Hyderabad: Residents of Krushi Defence Colony in Patancheru, Sangareddy district, Telangana, have raised concerns over several critical issues impacting their daily lives. Water stagnation during rains, deteriorating road conditions, inadequate drainage, and the financial burden of maintaining streetlights and parks are some of the major problems they are currently facing.

In response to these ongoing issues, the residents have written a letter to the Commissioner of GHMC, urging immediate intervention and resolution in their area.

One of the key concerns highlighted in the letter is water stagnation. Residents face severe inconvenience during the rains, with stagnant water causing damage to infrastructure and vehicles, including cars and motorcycles. The situation is particularly challenging for women and elderly residents, who find it difficult to navigate through the water. The community has requested a permanent and effective solution to this recurring problem.

Another major issue is the deteriorating condition of the colony’s roads. Many roads have become unsafe, with residents, especially women and senior citizens, suffering injuries due to the damaged surfaces. The lack of proper drainage has exacerbated the situation, leading to stagnant water and creating a breeding ground for mosquitoes, which raises the risk of diseases like dengue and malaria. The residents are calling for the construction of proper roads and an efficient drainage system to address these problems.

While the maintenance of streetlights and parks falls under GHMC’s jurisdiction, the residents alleged that they are still responsible for the electricity bills and upkeep costs. This has placed a significant financial burden on the community. In their letter, the residents have requested that GHMC take full responsibility for park maintenance and cover all related expenses.

The residents are hopeful that their grievances will be addressed promptly, improving the overall quality of life in Krushi Defence Colony.
