KUKATPALLY: Kukatpally MLA Madhavaram Krishna Rao on Tuesday launched a sharp attack on Telangana Jagruthi president Kalvakuntla Kavitha, accusing her of corruption, intimidation and political manipulation.

MLA questions Kavitha over graft allegations

Addressing reporters, Krishna Rao said Kavitha, instead of criticising Bharat Rashtra Samithi legislators, should explain “why she went to jail”. He also commented on personal matters, alleging that she had even named her pet dog Whisky.

He accused her of “corruption from Telangana to Delhi” and alleged that she had “damaged” Delhi chief minister Arvind Kejriwal. He further alleged that she was trying to “destroy K Chandrasekhar Rao, K T Rama Rao and the BRS”.

Claims of land deals, fund collections

Krishna Rao alleged that Kavitha had looted public resources during BRS’s 10 years in power and was involved in a “₹1,000-crore land scam”. He questioned how her husband purportedly came to own 36 acres in survey numbers 21 and 22 of Balanagar IDPL.

He alleged that Kavitha had collected “crores of rupees” in donations in the name of Bathukamma and owned a house in Hyderabad “bigger than that of chief minister Revanth Reddy”.

Charges of intimidation and threats

The MLA alleged that Kavitha routinely collected money by threatening people and claimed he knew who she had called in the last four days. He questioned her right to move freely in Telangana and accused her of working for political interests that people were “closely observing”.

“We were elected from the TDP, not from the party you imagine,” he said. “Kukatpally voters know what I have done in ten years. What do you know?”

He added: “Dogs like you keep barking. If you speak irresponsibly again, I will open your entire record and reveal how many people suffered because of you.”
