KPHB temple burglary: Gold, silver stolen

HYDERABAD: A major burglary was reported at a temple under the jurisdiction of the Kukatpally Housing Board Colony police station limits.
Two intruders strike after midnight
Police and temple committee members said two unidentified men broke into the Venkateswara Swamy temple at Sardar Patel Nagar after midnight on Tuesday. They forced open the sanctum door and removed gold and silver ornaments from the deity’s idol.
Theft detected at dawn
Temple committee members noticed the burglary on Wednesday morning and alerted the police. Officers reached the spot and collected details.
Four teams formed to track suspects
Police said the suspects fled towards Vasanth Nagar after the theft. According to the complaint, 13 to 15 tolas of silver and two to three tolas of gold were stolen. A case has been registered and four special teams have been formed to trace the accused.
