Kothur lorry carrying hay catches fire after power-line contact

KOTHUR: A lorry carrying a load of hay caught fire after it hit a low-hanging power line on the outskirts of Kodicherla village in Kothur mandal, Ranga Reddy district.
Low-hanging power line triggers accident
Police said the vehicle was transporting hay from Penzarala village to Nagaram in Maheshwaram mandal for cattle fodder. The driver reportedly failed to notice the sagging electric wires while driving through Kodicherla’s outskirts.
Rear of vehicle burnt
The lorry’s rear portion was charred after the electric line brushed against the hay. Burning hay spilled onto the roadside, causing panic among commuters.
Passengers alarmed as hay fell on the road
Officials said there were no injuries. Fire was brought under control soon after the incident.
