Jagtial Kondagattu temple shed falls during Hanuman Jayanti rush; 15 devotees injured

HYDERABAD: Fifteen devotees suffered injuries, including two who are in critical condition, after a bamboo-mat shed collapsed at the Kondagattu Anjaneya Swamy temple in Jagtial district on Wednesday.
The temple authorities had set up the shed for devotees performing tonsure (keshakandanam). It collapsed due to the heavy rush of pilgrims during Hanuman Jayanti.
Hundreds of devotees gathered at the temple to offer prayers to Lord Hanuman when the incident took place. Alert pilgrims acted quickly and helped prevent a major tragedy.
The collapse also snapped electric wires, which caused panic at the site.
Two devotees from Bellampalli in Mancherial district suffered serious injuries. Doctors are treating them at the government hospital in Jagtial.
Thirteen other devotees sustained minor injuries.
