Hyderabad: Minister Konda Surekha and her husband met Chief Minister Revanth Reddy at his residence in Jubilee Hills on Monday.

Deputy Chief Minister Bhatti Vikramarka and Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee president Mahesh Kumar Goud accompanied the couple to the meeting.

OSD Sumanth’s removal sparked controversy

The meeting followed recent controversies surrounding the removal of Surekha’s Officer on Special Duty (OSD) Sumanth and subsequent police visits to her residence.

Reports that the police had gone to the minister’s home looking for Sumanth, and that her daughter Susmitha had objected to their entry, triggered political discussions across party lines.

Dispute with Ponguleti Srinivas Reddy

The issue also intensified tensions between Ministers Konda Surekha and Ponguleti Srinivas Reddy. The row began over Medaram festival tenders and allegations that the Deccan Cements management had been threatened.

With the All India Congress Committee expressing displeasure over the developments, the Konda couple’s meeting with the Chief Minister is seen as a bid to resolve the matter.
