Chain snatching attempt foiled in Kompally colony, accused handed over to police
HYDERABAD: Panic gripped Jayabheri Colony in Kompally after a man allegedly entered an oil shop, attacked the woman owner and attempted to snatch her gold chain.
According to local residents, the woman raised an alarm during the incident, drawing the attention of people in the neighbourhood.
Residents intervene, overpower suspect
Responding to her cries for help, residents rushed to the shop and overpowered the accused. They allegedly thrashed him before handing him over to the police.
No official statement on the accused’s identity or motive was immediately available.
CCTV footage captures incident
The alleged chain-snatching attempt was reportedly captured on closed-circuit television (CCTV) cameras installed at the shop.
