IKF Finance office Hyderabad loan fraud complaint filed with police

HYDERABAD: Illegal operators are targeting government land near Kokapet’s Golden Mile and Financial District using forged documents and collector signatures to sell plots worth lakhs.

Fake documents used to sell government plots

Investigators said some individuals are using fabricated documents and notarised papers to occupy government land and sell plots in high-value areas around the Financial District, IT parks and gated communities.

The accused are identifying vacant government land within one or two kilometres of IT companies and residential projects. They then forge the signatures of collectors and revenue officials and divide the land into plots of 80 to 100 sq yards before selling them.

Plots are reportedly sold for ₹5 lakh to ₹15 lakh.

Revenue officials detect forgery

The fraud surfaced when buyers who purchased plots in Survey No. 147 in Kokapet began constructing houses about a month and a half ago. Revenue officials intervened and examined the documents.

Officials found a signature purportedly belonging to former Ranga Reddy district collector Harish on the pattas. A forensic examination later confirmed that the signature had been forged.

Revenue authorities said illegal operators are increasingly targeting high-value zones such as Kokapet Golden Mile and the Financial District.

Government land survey planned

According to Gandipet mandal Tahsildar N. Srinivas Reddy, attempts to encroach on government land are being made frequently in the mandal.

“We are stopping such attempts whenever they occur. A survey of all government land in the mandal will be conducted and boards will be installed,” he said.

Land disputes are also continuing in parts of Kokapet, Puppalaguda and Manikonda, where government land and assigned land parcels exist.

Officials suspect that forged certificates and illegal transactions are being used to occupy such land and sell it as private plots.
