Telangana appoints Ramesh Reddy as in-charge KNRUHS Vice-Chancellor
HYDERABAD: The Telangana government has appointed K Ramesh Reddy, Principal of Government Medical College, Yadadri Bhongir, as the in-charge Vice-Chancellor of Kaloji Narayana Rao University of Health Sciences, Warangal. The order was issued by Health Department Secretary Christina Z Chongthu on Thursday, December 4, 2025.
The appointment comes a week after P V Nanda Kumar Reddy resigned as Vice-Chancellor following allegations of administrative and examination-related irregularities. His resignation was submitted soon after Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy sought a detailed explanation from senior Health Department officials over reports flagging discrepancies in the university’s functioning.
Before being posted to Bhongir, Ramesh Reddy served as in-charge Director of Medical Education for six years from 2017 to 2023, playing a key role in the State’s Covid-19 response. He earlier served as Superintendent of Niloufer Hospital.
