Khammam Excise seizes 40 kg ganja worth ₹20 lakh in three cases
KHAMMAM: Excise officials in Khammam seized 40 kg of ganja, valued at about ₹20 lakh, in three separate cases and arrested two persons for allegedly transporting the contraband.
According to Khammam Deputy Commissioner Somireddy, officials intercepted a car arriving from Odisha and recovered 27 kg of ganja. Police arrested Vinay Sarkar in connection with the seizure and impounded the vehicle.
In two other cases, excise officials seized another 13 kg of ganja from two motorcycles. Moosa Ravikumar was arrested after officials recovered 6.8 kg of ganja from his possession.
Search on for absconding suspects
Officials said two other accused, identified as Talla Dhanaraj and Gaddam Shankar, are on the run. Efforts are underway to trace and arrest them.
The total quantity of ganja seized in the three cases is 40 kg, with an estimated market value of ₹20 lakh, the Deputy Commissioner said.
