Khajaguda rock site to be developed as green heritage park, lake clean-up covers 57 water bodies

HYDERABAD: Cyberabad Municipal Corporation (CMC) Commissioner G. Srijana on Sunday visited the Khajaguda heritage rock site and directed officials to develop it into a comprehensive rock garden with greenery.
She asked officials to integrate the site with Khajaguda Lake and ensure fencing to protect the rock formations.
Members of the Save The Rocks Society, including Sangeetha Varma, briefed the commissioner on the heritage value of the formations at the site.
Plans to integrate rock formations with lake ecosystem
Officials were instructed to prepare a plan that preserves the natural landscape while improving accessibility and environmental protection.
The focus will be on combining conservation with public use through landscaping and connectivity with the adjacent lake.
Community drive collects 20.5 metric tonnes of waste
Meanwhile, a lake cleaning drive was conducted with community participation in both CMC and Malkajgiri Municipal Corporation (MMC) limits.
In CMC areas, cleaning was taken up at 57 lakes. Around 20.5 metric tonnes of waste was collected during the exercise, officials said.
