Khadgam, Eeswar, & Prema Kavali set for re-release this October
Hyderabad: The world of Telugu cinema is buzzing with excitement as three beloved films, Khadgam, Eeswar, and Prema Kavali, are set to make a grand return to theaters this October. These re-releases allow fans a chance to relive the magic of classic storytelling and powerful performances that defined a generation.
Khadgam, directed by Krishna Vamsi, will be re-released on October 18, 2024, after 22 years since its original release on November 29, 2002. The action drama, produced by Sunkara Madhu Murali under Karthikeya Movies, features a stellar cast, including Srikanth, Ravi Teja, Prakash Raj, Sonali Bendre, Sangeetha Krish, and Kim Sharma.
The film, which was a blockbuster, received five Nandi Awards and three Filmfare Awards and was later remade in Hindi as Insan (2005). The soundtrack, composed by Devi Sri Prasad, includes the popular song “Govinda Govinda,” inspired by Adnan Sami’s “Lift Karade.”
Following closely, Eeswar, directed by Jayanth C. Paranjee, will hit theaters on October 23, 2024, to celebrate the birthday of its lead actor, Rebel star Prabhas. This action drama marked the debut of Prabhas, alongside Sridevi Vijaykumar, with supporting roles played by Siva Krishna and Revathi. The film features music by R. P. Patnaik, with all songs written by Sirivennela Seetharama Sastry.
Lastly, Prema Kavali, a romantic action film directed by K. Vijaya Bhaskar, is scheduled for re-release on October 25, 2024. Released in 2011, this film launched the careers of debutants Aadi and Isha Chawla.
It was a major success, ran over for 100 days and declared a blockbuster. The music, composed by Anup Rubens, was launched at an event attended by various celebrities, including Jayasudha and Manoj Manchu.
These re-releases aim not only to rekindle nostalgia among longtime fans but also to attract new audiences to visit theaters and experience the charm and artistry of these cinematic gems on the big screen once again.
