KCR announces Maganti Sunitha as BRS candidate in Jubilee Hills

HYDERABAD: Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) president K Chandrasekhar Rao on Thursday announced Maganti Sunitha Gopinath as the party’s candidate for the upcoming Jubilee Hills assembly by-election.
The seat fell vacant following the death of sitting MLA Maganti Gopinath. Party leadership decided to field his wife, Sunitha, citing her standing as a senior leader in the party and her connect with local voters.
According to Rao, the choice was made after considering her commitment and integrity. He said the decision also recognised the services rendered by Gopinath to the party and the people, while respecting the wishes of the Jubilee Hills electorate to give an opportunity to his family.
