KBR Park activists arrested over tree felling protest
HYDERABAD: Tension prevailed near Kasu Brahmananda Reddy National Park late on Tuesday night after activists opposing tree removal for a proposed flyover project were detained by police.
Members of the ‘Save KBR’ team allegedly tried to stop officials from removing trees near the park for the flyover construction work. Police intervened and detained social activist Vijay along with several supporters.

Police cite obstruction during official duties
According to the police, cases were registered against the activists for allegedly obstructing government work and using a drone without permission. Officials said the protesters interfered with staff engaged in duty at the site.
Vijay and his supporters were later shifted to Banjara Hills Police Station.
Activist alleges harassment through false cases
Vijay alleged that police had filed false cases against him to intimidate and harass activists protesting against the tree removal near the park.
The protest comes amid continuing opposition from environmental groups over the proposed infrastructure works around KBR Park.
