Election Commission clears Kavitha party as Telangana Rakshana Sena

HYDERABAD: The Election Commission of India has approved the new political party floated by Kalvakuntla Kavitha, but under a modified name.
The party sought registration as “Telangana Rashtra Sena”. However, the commission cleared the name “Telangana Rakshana Sena” instead, granting formal recognition to the outfit.
EC rejects original ‘Telangana Rashtra Sena’ name proposal
Kavitha had recently announced the formation of her party and unveiled its flag before the public under the proposed name. The change comes as the commission did not accept the original name.
Officials hand over approval document at Kavitha’s residence
Officials from the Election Commission visited Kavitha’s residence and handed over the approval document confirming registration under the revised name.
