Festive euphoria in Banjara Hills as Kavitha returns home after bail in Delhi excise scam
Banjara Hills: Festive euphoria engulfed the Banjara Hills with thousands of BRS party sympathizers flocking the upscale area to give a grand welcome to Kalvakuntla Kavitha who was out on bail on Wednesday.
Kavitha was granted bail on Tuesday and reached the city on Wednesday. Subsequently Kavitha received a grand welcome at the Rajiv Gandhi International Airport. The BRS leader was accompanied by her family members, including her brother and BRS working president, KT Rama Rao. A massive convoy of vehicles followed Kavitha from the airport to her residence in Banjara Hills.
Speaking to the media, Kavitha said, “We will fight under the leadership of KCR in the state. I am hopeful that I will come out with flying colors.” Expressing gratitude to her supporters for their unwavering faith, She thanked her supporters and assured to continue her efforts for the people of Telangana. Kavitha was warmly welcomed by thousands of jubilant party activists waving placards.
It is pertinent to note that the Supreme Court granted bail to the Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) leader Kalvakuntla Kavitha in connection with the Delhi excise policy scam, which is being investigated by the Enforcement Directorate (ED) and the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI). Kavitha was in Tihar jail for the past five months on Tuesday.
In its order, the Supreme Court set aside the lower court’s decision and directed Kavitha’s immediate release on bail. The Court ordered that Kavitha to be released forthwith on submitting bail bonds of Rs 10 lakhs each in both cases, shall not tamper with evidence or influence proceedings. Kavitha was ordered to surrender her passport and regularly report to the investigating agencies.
