Kavitha alleges phone tapping of husband Anil
HYDERABAD: Telangana Jagruti president Kalvakuntla Kavitha on Friday alleged that her husband Anil’s phone was tapped in the past and accused Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) leaders of making baseless allegations against her and her family.
“My husband, who is an in-law to the family, had his phone tapped earlier. Now, false allegations are being made against me and my husband. There is not even an iota of truth in them. You pushed me out of BRS are you still not satisfied?” Kavitha said, targeting BRS leaders.
HIL policy originated during BRS rule, says Kavitha
Speaking at a press conference at the Telangana Jagruti headquarters in Banjara Hills, Kavitha said the High Impact Line (HIL) policy was first opened up during the BRS regime.
“BRS leaders are accusing others over the HIL policy. But it was during their rule that windows were opened for this policy. Land-use conversions were given selectively. When BRS opened windows, the Congress government used that opening to throw open the doors,” she said.
She demanded that BRS leaders respond to her allegations.
‘Will expose irregularities since 2014 if I become CM’
Kavitha said irregularities during the previous government may have occurred with or without the knowledge of former chief minister K Chandrashekar Rao. “Only KCR knows whether these happened knowingly or unknowingly. By God’s grace, if I become chief minister, I will expose every injustice and irregularity committed in Telangana since 2014,” she said.
She clarified that her husband, along with some partners, had undertaken real estate ventures on private lands with valid pattas and passbooks. She said a dispute related to those lands was settled in Lok Adalat in 2019 and that her husband exited the project the same year.
Kavitha said building permission was granted in 2022 by the BRS government.
“If this was government land, is MLA Madhavaram Krishna Rao questioning why K T Rama Rao, who was then the municipal administration minister, signed the approval?” she asked.
She alleged that on October 7, 2023, the BRS government permitted conversion of five acres of industrial land for residential use under the industries department headed by K T Rama Rao, adding that a relative of Madhavaram Krishna Rao was involved in that business.
“K T Rama Rao and Krishna Rao should decide who is responsible in this matter,” she said.
Vigilance, ED to be informed, legal notices sent
Kavitha further alleged that a real estate company, in which an MLA’s son is a director, developed a venture over 70 acres that included 10 acres of Usmankunta lake.
“They fenced the entire venture by including the lake within it,” she said.
She said details of these alleged irregularities would be submitted to the government, Vigilance and Enforcement Directorate (ED).
Kavitha said legal notices had been sent to MLAs Aleti Maheshwar Reddy and Madhavaram Krishna Rao, and to T-News, for making false allegations against her.
