Hyderabad: A bus stop opposite CGO Towers in Kavadiguda, Secunderabad, has become a major inconvenience for commuters due to ongoing encroachments and poor maintenance. The bus stop, located opposite CGO Towers, Kavadiguda NTPC to Koti route, is surrounded by piles of construction materials and parked vehicles, rendering it unusable for passengers. As a result, buses are forced to stop on the narrow road, leading to traffic congestion and creating hazardous conditions for both passengers and motorists.

Team Road Squad (@Team_Road_Squad) has highlighted the issue on social media platform ‘X,’ formerly known as Twitter, tagging relevant authorities such as @GHMCOnline, @TGSRTCHQ, and @HYDTP. The post, along with a picture of the encroached bus stop, raised concerns over the situation.

Sri Harsha Tulasi, the admin of Team Road Squad, spoke to Hyderabad Mail about the ongoing problem. “The Kavadiguda bus stop is often obstructed by garbage, parked vehicles, and construction materials, making it impossible for commuters to use. As a result, buses have to stop on the narrow road, which not only causes traffic congestion but also creates dangerous conditions for both passengers and drivers,” he said.

Harsha also pointed out that despite public funds being spent on constructing bus shelters, poor maintenance and encroachments have made them ineffective. He mentioned that buses operating on route no. 40 frequently face these issues in the area.

Local residents are voicing their concerns as well. Vasam Anjeeva Prasad, a resident, mentioned that this was not an isolated issue, with many bus stops facing similar encroachments. Another citizen, identified as @voiceofAK_05, has urged the TGSRTC management and Managing Director Sajjanar to take immediate action against those blocking the bus stop.

Vijay Ninel, a concerned citizen, commented, “This bus stop exists in name only. Its actual purpose has been reduced to serving as an advertisement board, as is the case with many bus stops in Hyderabad. The functional aspect seems secondary.”

As of now, residents are awaiting action from TGSRTC management to address this ongoing issue and restore proper access to the bus stop.
