ACB arrests Adilabad tahsildar office employee for corruption

ADILABAD: The Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) on January 22, 2026, arrested Katkam Vidya Sagar Reddy, a senior assistant in the office of the Tahsildar, Bazarhathnur, Adilabad district, after allegedly catching him red-handed while accepting a bribe of ₹2 lakh.
Caught during trap operation
ACB officials said the accused was trapped at around 5.10 pm while receiving the bribe from a complainant in return for official favour. The bribe was allegedly demanded for processing and forwarding a file related to Sada Binama registration of 8.35 acres of land in Survey No. 11/A at Balanpur Shivar in the complainant’s name.
The tainted amount was recovered from the possession of the accused at his instance, officials said.
Produced before special court
The ACB said the accused acted dishonestly and abused his official position to obtain undue advantage. He is being produced before the Special Judge for SPE and ACB cases at Karimnagar. The case is under investigation.
The identity of the complainant has been withheld for security reasons.
Public urged to report bribery
The ACB appealed to the public to report any demand for bribe by public servants by calling the toll-free number 1064. Complaints can also be lodged through WhatsApp at 9440446106 and on social media platforms — Facebook (Telangana ACB) and X, formerly Twitter (@Telangana ACB). The ACB QR code is displayed in government offices and prominent public places, officials said, adding that the identity of complainants would be kept confidential.
