HYDERABAD: A case of fake currency surfaced during the counting of hundi collections at the Karmanghat Hanuman temple.
Temple staff found duplicate notes mixed with genuine cash offered by devotees. The fake notes included ₹100, ₹200 and ₹500 denominations labelled “Children’s Bank”.
Duplicate notes trigger concern among devotees
The discovery caused concern among devotees, who said such acts in a place of worship were troubling. They said misuse of religious offerings undermines trust in temple systems.
Temple officials promise preventive steps in future
Temple authorities responded to the incident and said measures would be taken to prevent such occurrences in future.
