When Raju failed to return the next day and his phone was switched off, Swarupa lodged a complaint at Manakondur police station on September 5. Using mobile signal data and the vehicle’s GPS, police traced the car to a well near Vegurupalli.
CCTV footage showed the car crossing Renikunta toll plaza in Thimmapur mandal at 1.53 am on September 4. The vehicle’s GPS signal stopped at 2.53 am, and police believe the accident occurred around that time.
