KTR says Revanth Reddy should resign

KARIMNAGAR: BRS working president K T Rama Rao (KTR) on Saturday said Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy, and not former chief minister K Chandrasekhar Rao (KCR), should resign, while attacking the Congress government over its election promises.

“People are talking about KCR resigning because they cannot digest what they have eaten. I am asking — who should resign?” KTR said.

“Why should he resign? Should KCR, who brought Telangana, resign?” he asked.

KTR said Revanth Reddy should resign instead. He accused the chief minister of “deceiving” people by promising results within 100 days but taking 1,000 days.

He also accused the Congress of “betraying” unemployed youth.

KTR recalls 2006 resignation episode in Karimnagar

Referring to an earlier political episode, KTR said Congress leaders had demanded KCR’s resignation in Karimnagar in 2006 as well.

“Even that day, here in Karimnagar in 2006, these same Congress people spoke about KCR resigning and made a big issue of it,” he said.

“Do you remember what happened when KCR resigned on this very soil of Karimnagar? In 2006, Congress was defeated,” KTR said.

KTR described KCR as the leader who could “turn the tables” on those who challenged him and warned the Congress against taking him on.

“Whoever hits him and makes his head spin and mind go blank — that is KCR. Don’t take him on,” KTR said.

“If you take on KCR now, the same thing will happen to Revanth Reddy again. Remember that,” he added.

KTR demands resignations over Congress promises

KTR said Revanth Reddy and Congress leaders should resign “420 times” over the 420 promises made by the party.

“Not just one minister should be dismissed. The days when your entire government will be dismissed are near,” he said.

“Remember this. I am warning the Congress party,” KTR said.

The reference to 420 promises is consistent with KTR’s recent criticism of the Congress government over its poll commitments.
