Karimnagar doctor’s bike racks up 277 challans, ₹79,875 in fines

HYDERABAD: A registered medical practitioner in Karimnagar was found to have 277 pending traffic challans on his bike, amounting to ₹79,875 in fines.
According to officials, the violations were recorded over the past five years through surveillance cameras installed at various junctions in the city. The challans were issued for offences such as signal jumping, overspeeding and improper parking.

Police said the fines were pending against the vehicle registered in the doctor’s name. They advised the owner to clear the dues immediately to avoid seizure of the bike. Traffic officials added that efforts are being made to identify chronic offenders and recover outstanding fines through the e-challan system.
