CCTV captures burglars fleeing after Kapra house break-in

HYDERABAD: Burglars broke into a locked house in Kapra and decamped with gold, silver and cash while the owner was away in the United States, police said.
According to Kushaiguda police, C.H. Vijayalakshmi, a resident of Hastinapuram in Sainikpuri under Kapra Circle, had been living alone after the death of her husband, Nageswara Rao. Her son and daughter are settled in the United States.
About a month ago, Vijayalakshmi locked the house and left to visit her son in the US. On Sunday morning, her domestic worker, Yashodamma, arrived at the house and found the locks broken.
Jewellery, cash stolen from almirah
Police said the burglars stole about three tolas of gold jewellery, 1 kg of silver articles and ₹5,000 in cash from an almirah.
Based on a complaint lodged by Vijayalakshmi’s brother, Venkateswara Rao, Kushaiguda police registered a case and began an investigation.
CCTV footage showed two suspects entering the house at around 03.30 IST on Sunday. Police said the duo carried out the theft calmly and fled in a car after stealing the valuables.
