Why N. Uttam Kumar Reddy flags Kaleshwaram issues
HYDERABAD: Telangana Irrigation Minister N. Uttam Kumar Reddy on Sunday said multiple investigations into the Kaleshwaram Lift Irrigation Project had identified “serious deficiencies” in the construction of its three barrages.
The minister said vigilance inquiries, judicial commissions and the National Dam Safety Authority had all pointed to significant shortcomings in the execution of the project.
Minister cites findings of multiple investigations
According to Uttam Kumar Reddy, the findings of these inquiries have placed the Kaleshwaram project under scrutiny, particularly with regard to the construction quality of the three barrages.
He said the investigations had highlighted “serious deficiencies” in the project, underscoring concerns over the infrastructure’s execution.
