Kadthal police bust illegal toxic toddy operation in Ranga Reddy
Ranga Reddy: Inspector Shivaprasad of the Kadthal Police Station, along with his team, conducted a raid at Palakurthi Raghavender’s residence in Sarikonda village on October 3, 2024. The operation uncovered Raghavender’s involvement in the illegal manufacturing and sale of spurious toddy, commonly known as Kalti Kallu.
During the search, police discovered four plastic drums filled with spurious toddy in a Bolero vehicle parked at the premises. Upon questioning, Raghavender admitted to mixing ammonium bicarbonate powder and citric acid with locally sourced toddy to produce the illicit beverage. He confessed to selling the spurious toddy in Hyderabad for profit.
During the raid, the authorities seized several items, including 2 kg of ammonium bicarbonate powder, approximately 900 liters of spurious toddy, one empty citric acid container, and the Bolero vehicle used for transportation.
A case has been registered under CR no 291/2024 against Raghavender under section 34(a) of the TSEA Act 1968. The investigation is ongoing into this illegal operation.
