K Kavitha stopped at Chikkadpally Library amid Jagruti protest

HYDERABAD: K Kavitha, president of Telangana Jagruthi, and other organisation leaders were stopped by police from entering the City Central Library in Chikkadpally to meet Group-1 candidates. The leaders held a sit-in and spoke to candidates at the library gate.

“I came to speak with students about irregularities in the Group-1 exam,” Kavitha told reporters. “Police prevented us from going inside.” She said students told her malpractices took place during the exam under the current administration.
Kavitha said she has asked that the exam be cancelled and a re-exam be held. “If the government conducted recruitments transparently, why would appointments have to be made overnight?” she asked, criticising alleged back-door appointments. She said many students were challenging the validity of papers and questioned why the government fears making copies public.
She alleged the government gave jobs to individuals lacking eligibility and accused it of favouring non-locals. “A presidential order was ignored and eight non-locals were given jobs,” she said, referring to appointments she described as irregular.
Kavitha also complained that Telugu and Urdu medium candidates faced injustice and said children of police officers were among those who sat the Group-1 exam. She asked why police were protecting a government that, she said, is acting against students’ interests.
