Kavitha launches ‘Give Her Space’ poster in Hyderabad

HYDERABAD: Telangana Jagruthi president K Kavitha said women must be respected every day and not only on International Women’s Day.
She attended Women’s Day celebrations organised at the Telangana Jagruthi office in Hyderabad on March 8. During the event, she unveiled a poster titled ‘Give Her Space’.

Kavitha said the organisation’s slogan is “Give Her Space”, not “Stand With Her.”
“Women do not belong to big or small castes. All women belong to one caste,” she said.
“Regardless of the family they are born into, discrimination continues against women. Husbands, fathers and brothers often treat them as inferior,” she added.
Women urged to enter politics
Kavitha said women played a key role in the Telangana statehood movement and continue to be important in building a socially inclusive Telangana.
She urged women of all ages to enter politics.
“Without women, the Telangana movement would not have happened. Their role will remain crucial in building a social Telangana,” she said.
Kavitha also alleged that crimes against women have increased after the Congress came to power.
She said Telangana Jagruthi created history by securing 33% reservation for women in seats.
