Jurala releases floodwater through 30 gates

JOGULAMBA GADWAL: The Jurala project is receiving heavy inflows as rains continue in Maharashtra and Karnataka, swelling the Krishna river. Officials are releasing water downstream towards Srisailam.

30 gates opened as Jurala inflows rise

Officials have lifted 30 gates of the project. Inflows were recorded at 2,30,000 cusecs, while outflows stood at 2,34,629 cusecs.

The water level at the project stood at 317.57 metres against the full reservoir level of 318.516 metres.

Reservoir holds 7.778 TMC, hydel generation continues

The reservoir currently holds 7.778 TMC of water against its full storage capacity of 9.657 TMC. The 9.657 TMC figure is also recorded in the KRMB annual report.

Eleven units at the upper and lower Jurala hydel power stations are generating 434 MW of electricity.
