Jubilee Hills traffic advisory issued due to drainage works

HYDERABAD: Traffic congestion was reported in parts of Jubilee Hills on Tuesday following drainage works taken up by the Hyderabad Metropolitan Water Supply and Sewerage Board near the Peddamma Temple Metro Station.
Drainage works affect key stretch
The works have resulted in slow-moving traffic on the Peddamma Temple–Neerus route, particularly during peak commuting hours. Vehicles were seen moving at a crawl as barricades and work equipment narrowed the available carriageway.
Officials said the ongoing works are necessary to improve underground drainage infrastructure in the area but acknowledged that temporary inconvenience to commuters is unavoidable.
Alternate routes advised
To minimise delays, traffic authorities advised motorists to avoid the affected stretch and use alternate routes. Vehicles heading towards the Cable Bridge were asked to take Road No. 59 via Varamahalaxmi Heart Cup or proceed through the Check Post Road No. 45 stretch.
Commuters travelling towards Madhapur, Hitec City and adjoining areas were also advised to plan additional travel time and follow on-ground instructions.
Metro travel encouraged
Officials suggested that commuters may prefer using the Hyderabad Metro Rail to bypass road congestion in the Jubilee Hills–Banjara Hills corridor. Hyderabad Traffic Police personnel were deployed at key junctions to regulate traffic flow and prevent bottlenecks.
Authorities appealed to motorists to remain patient, follow traffic advisories and cooperate with police personnel until the completion of the works.
