Jubilee Hills police arrests 8 in abducting and stealing laptops from their employer
Jubilee Hills: In a significant breakthrough, Jubilee Hills police have arrested eight individuals involved in wilful trespass for committing offences of abduction, confinement and theft. Further police seized 84 laptops, 4 four wheelers, 1 bike and 18 phones from accused possession.
The accused were arrested in connection with a series of serious crimes, including intentional house trespass, abduction, wrongful restraint, confinement for extortion, intimidation, and theft by Jubilee Hills Police Station. The arrested accused were identified as Akula Jagadeesh, Kolagatla Gowtham, Katha Siva Shankar Reddy,Sudagani Sujith Kumar, Kamal Teja,Shaik Azad, Karnati Mukesh and Rakesh alias Praveen.
According to the police, The incident occurred on the night of 9th to 10th July 2024 at 2 AM at HUDA Enclave, Nandagiri Hills, Jubilee Hills, Hyderabad. The accused, who were known to the victim, carried out these crimes with the intention of recovering funds and goods due to financial disputes.
According to the complainant, Vakati Madhavi stated in her complaint that her son Ravichandra Reddy, started a company, Gigleaz Pvt Ltd. And due to financial troubles he didn’t pay salaries to 1,200 employees recruited through consultancies, sparking anger and demands for refunds from affected staff and consultants.
“Madhavi explained that on the night of July 9-10, 2024, matters escalated dramatically, when individuals associated with these consultancies, including Jagadesh, Gowtham, Shiva, Sujith, and others, forcibly entered their residence in HUDA Colony, Nandagiri Hills. According to Madhavi’s statement, they assaulted Ravichandra Reddy and his friend Mohan, seized 80 laptops, and 5 mobile phones, and threatened her with dire consequences to deter her from reporting the incident. Subsequently, a case was registered under various serious charges including intentional house trespass, preparation to cause harm, wrongful restraint, abduction, confinement for extortion, intimidation, and theft” said police in an official statement.
Investigation revealed that Ravichandra Reddy, founded Gigleaz Pvt Ltd near IKEA, Gachibowli, and employed 1,200 personnel through consultancies for a fee. Financial difficulties resulted in delayed salary payments, escalating tensions with the consultancies. He described how, on July 10, all the accused abducted and assaulted him, confining him at a Hotel on Srisailam Road, while some accused stole laptops and mobile phones from his residence.
The Jubilee Hills Police swiftly launched an investigation and arrested the accused. Interrogations and confessions from accused led to the recovery of stolen items and further evidence tying them to the crimes. Three accused were apprehended at Jagruthi Consultancy, Banjara Hills, where they admitted to their roles in the abduction, assault, and theft. Police seized cell phones, laptops, and other crucial items used during the crimes, documenting each seizure meticulously.
The probe uncovered Akula Jagadeesh’s involvement in establishing Jagruti Training Consultancy and his role in job placements through various consultancies, shedding light on financial transactions and disputes that culminated in the violent events of July 10, 2024.Jubilee Hills police arrested the accused and sent to judicial custody and further investigation is underway.
