Jubilee Hills society polls set for tight contest

HYDERABAD: The Jubilee Hills Co-operative House Building Society elections have turned competitive, with two panels entering the fray. The contest is between the panel led by incumbent president Bollineni Ravindranath and another led by Bollineni Srinayya.

The entry of Srinayya, a construction sector entrepreneur, has heightened interest in the election. Members are closely watching the developments as both sides step up campaigning.

Global members track developments, discussions intensify

A large number of society members reside abroad in countries such as the United States, Australia, Canada, Singapore, the United Kingdom, New Zealand, Germany, France and Japan. They are actively following the election and engaging in discussions.

Both Ravindranath and Srinayya have begun outreach efforts, meeting members and seeking votes.

High-profile voters include politicians, film stars, industrialists

The society has members from political, business and film sectors. Voters include Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy, Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu, former Vice President M. Venkaiah Naidu, and film personalities such as Chiranjeevi, Akkineni Nagarjuna, Prabhas, Jr NTR, Mahesh Babu, Vijay Deverakonda, Allu Arjun and Mohan Babu.

Producers Daggubati Suresh and Allu Aravind, along with industrialists Mega Krishna Reddy and Chukkapalli Suresh, are also among members. Around 400 prominent individuals, including former ministers, MPs and MLAs, have voting rights.

Polling on April 5; over 4,000 voters eligible

Polling will be held on April 5 at Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan Public School in Jubilee Hills from 8 am to 3 pm. Counting will begin at 5 pm the same day.

A total of 4,039 voters are eligible to elect the new executive body. Established in 1968, the society is considered one of Asia’s largest residential colonies, spread over 1,350 acres with more than 3,000 houses. Around 2,000 members remain on the waiting list.
